In 1984, the architect Miguel Quintana Pali bought 5 hectares in the Mayan Riviera to build his house. When he began clearing his land, he discovered it had cenotes (natural wells) and underground rivers, so he decided to create a park so that everyone could have access to the local natural space.
Together with the brothers Oscar, Marcos and Carlos Constandse, Miguel Quintana turned his idea into reality, in a park that was named Xcaret. From its opening in December 1990, Xcaret has been acknowledged as one of the most famous attractions of the touristic destinations in Cancun, Riviera Maya. Today Grupo Xcaret is globally a socially responsible leader company in sustainable touristic entertainment.
In December 2017, Grupo Xcaret opened its first hospitality experience.
