Travelers can find different accommodations which can offer new experiences. Underwater hotels are not the exception. However, they can represent a challenge. Building underwater is no easy feat due to environmental concerns and financial obstacles.

1. The Muraka, Maldives

The hotel is a Hilton underwater hotel, which belongs to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. It is the “world´s first underwater villa” and it was opened in November 2018. The hotel has luxury touches and a lower level sunk of 16 feet below sea level.

Travelers will find suites with prices at 50,000 dollars per night.

2. Atlantis the Palm, Dubai

The hotel is in Dubai. It allows observing 65,000 marine animals that live among the ruins of the “lost city of Atlantis”. Each room costs around 7,000 dollars per night and comes with in-room dining, a 30-minutes personal training session, and a free airport transfer. At the same time, guests can also go scuba diving in the Ambassador Lagoon aquarium.

3. The Manta Resort, Tanzania

Located at Pemba Island, which belongs to the Zanzibar archipelago. In 2013 the hotel debuted its exclusive Underwater Room, a three-level floating suite with views of the reef from the room in the Indian Ocean. A room can have a price of 900 dollars per night. Guests can also enjoy dive trips along the Pemba coast.

4. InterContinental Shimao Wonderland, China

After a decade of construction, it was opened in late 2018 in Shanghai, China. People can find a restaurant known as M. Fisher. There, clients can also enjoy an underwater experience without booking a room. The Shanghai Wonderland was designed by the British firm Atkins. A room can cost a total of 15,000 dollars. The suites come with Club InterContinental exclusive privileges and butler service.

5. Utter Inn, Sweden

The hotel was designed by a local artist, it seems like a typical Swedish house floating on water, however, it has a small bedroom sunk about 10 feet below the surface. The room does not have an electrical connection, the breakfast is served in cooler bags, and the deluxe version provides a dinner delivery. The price per night is 257 dollars.
